Manta Point is a dive and snorkel site off Nusa Penida's southwest coast, where manta rays gather at a cleaning station below the limestone cliffs. It is one of the most reliable places in Indonesia to see mantas, and it has become a highlight of trips to the Nusa Islands for both divers and snorkelers.
The cleaning station sits at around 10 meters, where small reef fish pick parasites from the mantas, which return to the same spots again and again. The site lies within the Nusa Penida marine protected area. Currents around the cleaning station are usually mild, but surge and swell are common, and visibility varies. The site is reached only by boat.
Snorkelers watch from the surface as the mantas glide below, while divers settle on the sand nearby. The water can be choppy, and the swell can make snorkeling challenging for weaker swimmers. The site is busy, with many boats arriving at once, so early or late trips are quieter. Keeping a respectful distance helps the mantas stay.
